    Hi Cynthia,

Firstly I just wanted to compliment you on the new look of your blog – it looks fantastic!!

And I absolutely love the way you’ve distilled the success journey into these ’15 Steps To Greatness’.

AL of the steps resonate with me,but particularly steps 1,4,5,6,7,8 and 10. Being present and proactive and keeping high levels of integrity are skills that I still continue to work on – as well as remaining focused on my purpose. And sometimes it takes a little work to keep on track (in my case), BUT I think these are great principles and certainly since I have adopted these principles,(even if I had slightly different names for them)I have found things have gone so very much more smoothly for me.

Thanks for sharing such an inspiring and thought-provoking post!

Great post Cynthia! For me #7 is the one that all the other points revolve around. I don’t believe true greatness exists without integrity. Integrity must be the core value or centerpiece of a truly extraordinary individual. They are viewed as extraordinary by others who see or experience their integrity, both inward and outward. I also agree with the other 14 points, but without #7 can the other 14 stand on their own, or as a collective group?

    Have an awesome day!

Thank you so much Dale for your comments! I absolutely agree with you about integrity being the core value for excellence. If you start with that, so much else falls into place. I appreciate your support and ongoing wisdom!!

    Hi Cindy!

As always, this post is absolutely fabulous. I love every single point because they are all so true. But if I had to pick one that really means the most to me, I would have to say #8 and #13. Both are equally important in my opinion and if I can give before receiving, then I’m setting an example for my children and hopefully for others as well.

Well done and well said Cynthia!

    Hi Cynthia,

I love the way you write! You have pulled some wonderful lessons that we can all apply into a handful of simple points – engaging, inspiring and just plain awesome!

These are so much more than just bullet points. They are rich lessons that we can all draw on – now!
I really loved them all but I must say that #4 resonated with me.

As a Project Leader, this is a great mantra that is central to successful delivery, and that means so much more than the sum of those few words.

    Be prepared.
    Know your people and audience.
Understand what drives and motivates them.

    Get on the front foot.
    Don’t be passive.
Act first and act with authority.

Very well written, Cynthia. Thanks so much for sharing!

Congratulations on our new blog Cynthia!
Finally sat down as I wanted to carefully read your post and fully grasp every word.

Each of the fifteen points are equally important and a roadmap to achieving success.

Of the ones that resonates is “look sharp” it reminds me to the famously quote from Coco Channel “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman”

Top that with your own uniqueness, confidence, integrity and we will leave a long lasting memory!

Excellent post, make us look within ourselves to unleash our better selves and give to others in return! It is a powerful and beautiful chain reaction! 🙂

Thank you Dayanna for sharing! I love that quote you shared! How very true that is!!!

Another great post, Cynthia! I love all 15 points and I think they are all important since we are all continuous “works in progress”. However, I believe #1 Be Present and #9 Celebrate your Uniqueness are the launching pad for the other points! It all starts with ourselves. 🙂

    Thanks so much for sharing!

I totally agree with all that Cynthia has outlined here and as usual she has put together 15 top ideas for success.

The areas she has outlined are all vitally important and of equal importance.

Punctuality always be on time – better to be early than late

    Smartness that should come naturally

Confidence be assured don’t be timid show them who you really are

Integrity that will inspires others in you and your ability

Honesty why try to deceive – in the end it will only come back to haunt you

Leadership some are born with it arrives strive for it – use it and make it work for you

Read and learn from her advice!

In the end it is down to you – others can help but only you can do!

    Good luck!

    Hi Cindy,
Thanks for this! Love them all, but I am most especially taken with #13. Being a mentor. I honestly feel among all the reasons being at the job I am at right now is to be a mentor. Northwest Missouri State University is here in Maryville and I have already associated with 4 Northwest students. Really like being a positive influence. I did a lot of this in Des Moines when I worked at Grand View University also. Really think it’s part of my calling right now. Who knows how long it will be, but it is at this point it is a one of the primary focuses in my life.

Love your comments Geoffrey. By being a mentor, you are truly an inspiration to so many. It is your calling! Shine on my friend!

Wonderful post, Cindy! The three “Smart Ways” to step into greatness that stand out for me are: Own Your Life, Walk the Talk, and Be a Mentor. I believe that you only have one life to live so you must take responsibility for it, create it how you want it to be, and fully live it. You must lead by example and take action. I have been a mentor teacher for over five years now and feel that it is so important to be someone that others can learn from and come to for help. I have been very fortunate to have had wonderful mentors in my professional and personal life who have inspired me!
