6 Things You Need To Have To Achieve The Results You Want

  1. Knowing What You Want –  Most people know in general what they want out of life. But being generalized is not enough in order to achieve great results that you want. For example, if you know you want to be a motivational speaker, in my experience the real positive shift happens towards major results when you get specific about your message and the audience you want to speak to.  Overall goals are great, but in order for you to achieve great success, it’s important to know your lane which then you’ll feel confident to really go after it.
  2. Measuring The Steps You Take – It’s very important as you are going for your goals to measure your progress along the way. You need to understand what is not working and make the necessary adjustments. And it’s also important to monitor the positive progress and push yourself toward bigger and better results.
  3. Have Attainable Goals – One of the things that can make you fizzle in motivation is setting goals that are not attainable.  I always believe in setting your goals high, but don’t overwhelm yourself or be too far-fetched in what you can possibly achieve. Also, when setting those large goals, be sure to break those large goals into reasonable, smaller goals so you can feel motivated to take those on and achieve them. Small accomplishments lead to big achievements.
  4. Be Truly Committed – In order to achieve the results that you want, you can’t be halfway committed or get easily distracted when challenges come your way. You have to have a no excuses approach and let nothing get in your way to making things happen for you.
  5. Believe In Yourself –  One of the most important pieces of achieving the success you want is that you absolutely have to believe in yourself. Going for your goals is going to be challenging. You don’t have time to be doubting yourself too long and if you want others to believe in you, you have to show you believe in yourself. Invest in yourself to get the confidence in yourself.
  6. Have The Right Support and Resources – I always tell my clients that alone you can do a lot but with the right support system and resources, anything is possible.  When going for your goals, there are going to be challenges that come your way. It’s so important to have those tools and resources and support system to help you immediately when you need it.

Do you feel you’ve got everything it takes to achieve your goals and dreams? Which of the six things above do you believe are most important that has worked for you? Or which ones do you need to do better at? I really look forward to hearing from you!

Outstanding post, Cynthia! I especially connect with number 5- Believe in Yourself. I would add that we need to lead by building our confidence which we can do by taking action. Sometimes I can feel paralyzed and when that happens, I need to stay positive and talk myself through the next steps.

Thanks again and will share! Great message!

This is a terrific post Cynthia! Each of the six items resonated with me in some way but I think number 3 (Have Attainable Goals) really hit home. When I first set out to become a Life Coach, I felt it was more important to get certified in as many areas as possible, rather than focusing on one thing and really developing an expertise (and following) in that area. Overwhelm quickly set in and I could not figure out how to market myself and my services. Today, I’m working on fine-tuning my focus and figuring out where and how I can best serve others. Having attainable goals are super important to anyone launching a business!

Cynthia, this is a great post! Measuring The Steps You Take, resonates most with me. That has been my lesson in the past few months. To know what works for me and at at what pace am I comfortable. Don’t measure my progress against everyone else’s; they may be at a different point in their journey. Whether it’s business or personal.
