4 Laser Focused Reminders Why to Cut Yourself Some Slack!

I don’t know about you, but I can be my own worst critic! If something goes wrong, I kick myself in the butt 10 times more and harder than anyone would dream to ever do to me! I know… I am being completely authentic here. Me? Kick myself in the butt? I am normally the one that is doing the butt kicking (figuratively of course). But I want you to know that no one is perfect. I am not perfect, you are not perfect and we have to commit right now to stop being so hard on ourselves.

We have a lot to do in life and it doesn’t do us any good to be so hard on ourselves.  Here are 4 quick laser focused reminders why you need to cut yourself some major slack.

4 Smart Reminders Why to Cut Yourself Some Slack!

  1. No one Is Perfect –  We all know this, but at times we have to re-focus on this. Absolutely no one is perfect; Inspirational Imageeveryone makes mistakes. The key is what you do as a result of a challenge that happens to you. How do you move onward and forward from something?
  2. It Takes Guts To Go For It In Life – Remember that it takes a lot of determination and guts to go for what you want in life. While other people are thinking on things, you are taking action on things. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
  3. Mistakes Are Part of the Journey to Success – Instead of being too hard on yourself, shift your mindset about mistakes. Remind yourself that you are going to become a better person as a result of going through things.
  4. Your Journey Will Help Someone Else – Know that some day your ‘story’ is going to help someone else. It may not appear so right now, but go back to knowing that any learning lessons can always help someone else.

So do yourself a favor right now. Close your eyes and take a deep cleansing breath!  And here is your virtual kick in the butt to say ‘cut yourself some slack’! You are positively extraordinary. You are amazing and the world is waiting for your gifts.  When you have challenges, know that tomorrow is a brand new day. So get up, brush yourself off and move onward and forward. You have got this!

I would love to hear from you which of the 4 reminders you needed to hear right now. Also, if you have other things you would like to add to my points above, post them in the comments. I am looking forward to hearing from you!

#4, always #4! That’s just in line with how I think…it makes any and every challenging thing easier to bear. Here’s a good tip, too, from my friend Georgena, who’s a grief counselor. She advises her clients to take a deep breath and ask, “What’s the kindest, most loving thing I can do for myself in this moment?” And then DO IT!

Christy, thank you so much for your comments! I love your ‘add’ about saying to ourselves ‘What’s the kindest, most loving thing I can do for myself in this moment’ and then doing it. Your friend Georgena is awesome! Love it!!!

Fantastic post Cynthia! All your points are terrific and I especially connect with the one regarding making mistakes. The lessons we learn when we face failure and make mistakes will ultimately lead to our successes.

    Thanks Cynthia!

So important to take your wisdom to heart, Cynthia. I think the ones that resonate most with me now are 1 and 4. I’m inclined to expect more from myself but am perfectly accepting of others who aren’t interested in doing more or doing better. And I. #4, I believe everything, even failing happens that we might learn more, improve something, and always so we can encourage and help others. Each one, teach one. That’s my philosophy anyway.

Your journey will help someone else really resonates with me today. I have stories, information, and gifts to share, but have allowed self-doubt, procrastination and indecision to keep me from pressing forward. Thank you for the timely reminders Cynthia. As always, I appreciate you!

Fantastic! We are so much harder on ourselves than we need to be more often than not. I loved your fourth point, our stories can help someone else – own them, don’t hide them.

    Will share!
