Stay Focused By Keeping Distractions Away

What are some of your distractions when you are at work or doing a project at home? Things that easily get you away from your focus of a project, something you need to get done? Do you constantly check emails throughout the day? Is Facebook keeping your attention away? Are you constantly getting interrupted by phone calls or people walking in to talk with you?

You’ve got a lot to do! In order to stay focused on a task at hand, you’ve got to eliminate the distractions that get the best of you!

SmartChic Action Tip! Starting today, while working on projects, keep focused by taking the necessary steps to keep distractions away. Do what you CAN do. Examples: Check emails only a few times throughout the day; let people know that you need some time to focus on a project and can meet later in the day; do what you can not to take phone calls, returning them later in the day.

Most people have no idea of the giant capacity we can immediately command when we focus all our resources on mastering a single area of our lives. -Tony Robbins

Oh! Cynthia you are always reminding me about great things that makes my life easier and less dramatic. I read his post yesterday, And I was so touched by it. I am one of those people that get so distracted easily,1. Maybe because I don’t want to make people feel bad, so i try to reply right away to their emails, phone calls, or text messages even in the midst of projects and important projects. At times I do not want to forget, but you have really made me understand that it’s okay especially when I am working on things important. I will use this tool that has been given to me by you and make great use of it. I will gradually adjust, by letting them know that I need time, and reminding “myself” that it will eventually be done, but I should focus on me first. Thank you Cynthia.

Thank you so much for your comments Etiedidiong! Yes, at times it’s absolutely okay to say ‘no’ to requests for our time in order to say YES to our own life! Especially when we need to get important things done. Stay focused my friend and keep those distractions away! Have a fantastic day!

This is so true, one of the best things I ever did at work was turn of the email notification so I didn’t get tempted to read them whilst doing something else! Will be signing up for tip of the day.
